It's a Valuable Benefit...and It's Free!
Employers Serve as "Employee Group Sponsors"
Membership in Capitol Region FCU is available to thousands of people because employers and other organizations have submitted a brief, non-financial request to become one of our 100-plus Employee Group Sponsors. These organizations offer Capitol Region FCU membership eligibility as an optional benefit to their employees/members.
Ranging from one person to thousands, a wide variety of Connecticut businesses, municipalities, non-profits and chambers of commerce have become Employee Group Sponsors: click here for our current list. There is no cost, and new Sponsor Groups are always welcome.
No application or membership fees or dues are paid by Employee Groups. We encourage any business or organization to learn how easy it is to become a Capitol Region FCU affiliate or sponsor. Please contact Krista, at the New Member Desk, at 860-513-4024 x205, or info@capitolregionfcu.org.
Employee Groups Sponsors offer an important financial benefit: Their employees/members are eligible to join Capitol Region FCU simply by opening a $5 (minimum) savings/share account: They then can enjoy Capitol Region's comprehensive selection of banking products...free checking, low-cost loans, online banking and billpay, a variety of deposit products, many convenience services and a responsive, professional staff.
Capitol Region supports Sponsors: we offer to educate and inform sponsors' employees/members; provide posters, flyers, newsletters and payroll enclosures; and conduct on-site enrollment meetings, if requested. Sponsor Groups simply arrange with us to provide credit union membership eligibility as an optional benefit...we do the rest.
Personal Membership
Eligibility: If you work for or are a member of one of our Employer Groups (click here to see list), you are already eligible to join Capitol Region FCU. Simply bring a valid photo ID and open a Share/savings account with a deposit of $5 or more at one of our offices. There are no membership dues or fees.
Capitol Region FCU services and products are offered at our Bloomfield, West Hartford and Wethersfield offices; via free ATMs at each branch; through our Internet and telephone banking services; and via extensive ATM networks that include 28,000 surcharge-free CO-OP Network and SUM Program ATMs in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
Capitol Region FCU membership is different from most other employee or member benefits because we are a not-for-profit and member-owned financial institution. Any profits are returned to members in the form of advantageous loan rates and dividends. And each member gets one vote, regardless of the size or nature of his his/her account. Importantly, our board of directors are all unpaid volunteers elected from our membership.
